Celebration! 2025
Three ways to style for the holiday party season
Happy December! In between planning year end activities, wrapping up personal and professional goals, shopping for gifts and listening to 100 different variations of “Last Christmas,” one of the biggest things on my to do list this time of year is both intimidating and stressful at the same time – finding the right holiday party outfit.
I believe December is the time to make new wishes and plans for everything you want in the new year. I love celebrating New Year’s Eve, and this year I’m manifesting holiday magic by dressing up extra fancy this party season. No matter if this year for you was filled with new successes or plenty of setbacks; own your worth, walk with confidence, and let everyone know you’re the force to be reckoned with in 2025.
So where do we start? With something sequin, satin and with a bow. I am sharing my favorites HERE, which you can browse and filter through to find your preferred match. Let’s dive in!
Something sequin
Who knew that tiny plastic circles threaded together can create so much winter cheer? I think of a sequin dress as a glamorous investment piece for the long term. To get the right one— know your preferred sleeve length, waist and skirt. My personal favorite is a long sleeve mini, fitted at the waist.
Keep in mind comfort, as sequin dresses will be a bit heavier to wear than a typical garment. Nevertheless, if you’re feeling totally Gatsby for this holiday party season, sequins are the right choice.
Something satin
Satin is fabric specifically woven to have a glossy, smooth surface. It’s typically made from silk, viscose or polyester — keep in mind the material as you browse. Its shiny appearance makes for an elegant look that fits well with a festive vibe.
I love the idea of a graceful satin dress in red, green or blue with lace detail for the holiday party. Go for this look if you want a more subtle way to feel like a Goddess that knows her worth.
Something with a bow
Perhaps I’m still recovering from ballet core mania earlier this year, but I’m very drawn to bows this season. Little bows in gowns, bows on top of sequin dresses, silk bows on mini skirts – give me them all. I’m not the only one – bow dresses are up in popularity in winter 2023, and trending up this year by over 20% in search as well!
I love the slight silliness and femininity that bows add to an outfit. If you’re looking for something a bit more preppy and delicate this holiday season, bow it up.
Happy styling! Remember, the best dress is the one you already own; but if you’re looking for extra inspiration, check out the holiday party InStock Finder HERE. Let me know if there’s something else you’d like to know more about in the comments below.
How to style
Pro tips to feel your best
Know what makes you feel most confident. Long sleeves? Midi skirt? Cami or sweetheart neckline? Satin or sequin fabric?
Think beyond the holiday rush; will you still want to wear this piece in January or for another event in the summer? Will it be wasted down the line? Plan early, and sleep on it before you buy so you’re not stuck in a last minute returns race.
Keep in mind combos with other pieces – coats, bags and shoes!
